Precious gem tucked away in southern coastal waters

I’m inclined to believe we have the best sunrises in the whole world.

This sunrise captured at Austinmer beach is a classic.

Austinmer (town), is a northern suburb of Wollongong on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia.

It sits in the northern Illawarra region, south of StanwellPark and immediately north of Thirroul, about 2 hours south of Sydney.

The town’s main beach is Austinmer Beach, a patrolled surf beach and a popular tourist beach.

A second smaller and unpatrolled beach lies directly to the north of Austinmer beach, and is known locally as “Little Austi”.

Little Austi is dog friendly whereas Austinmer Beach is not.

I love this image  with it’s amazing sky.

I know I’ve shown this image before on my pretty as a picture blog site but its definitely worth a re-visit.

Along the NSW coastline we have an abundance of red/pink skies during sunrise.

This was one such occasion where it exceeded even my expectations.
